MAC False Lash Mascara Review & Photos
I was so happy to find this mascara at my MAC counter the other day. I had just decided to purchase it online when I found that it had sold out. I wanted something from the Marcel Wanders collection and this not only interested me product-wise but I also really like the packaging--an important aspect of a mascara for me, apparently, because I bought Haute & Naughty Lash for packaging reasons. (I'm sure you guys can understand.)
Sugarpil "Goldilux," "Stella," and "Tipsy" Swatches
These are my first Sugarpill purchases. I've had my eye on "Goldilux" for so long now (everyone either has it or wants it) and I finally bought it. When I saw "Stella," I had to have it too. They threw in a sample of "Tipsy" which I also swatched.
These swatched and photograhed sooo gorgeously that I had a lot of fun taking shots of them.
MAC Jeanius Preview
I ran across a preview for MAC's "Jeanius" collection on this blog. I'm liking the looks of it so much I wanted to re-post.

Favorite Products of 2010
I got this list from a different Jen. It asks my favorite beauty products from this year. I wanted to fill it out because I think it will be interesting to see how it changes by the end of 2011.
My favorites in...
Makeup
Foundation: Make Up Forever HD Foundation is my favorite. I think it was all I used in 2010. It is a *tiny* bit too much for my oily skin BUT as long as I do a touch up or two throughout the day, I'm fine and it's worth it for the beautiful coverage of this foundation. It even wakes up my tired eyes which isn't something I've ever been able to say for a foundation.
Concealer: Benefit's Boi-ing concealer is my favorite. It was the first concealer I ever used (recommended by a Sephora worker) and while I've strayed a bit, I always come back to this one. It's very, very lightweight. I just tap it onto my skin and build the coverage where I need it. It's not at all oily and it doesn't add to my shininess. The one downside (maybe) is that it only comes in three shades so it may be difficult to get one that doesn't make you too light/too dark. I'm techinically somewhere between 01 and 02 but after the application of my foundation, it isn't usually an issue. Sometimes I think I look a little too light if I use 01. Usually I use 02.
Powder: MAC Studio Fix +Foundation pressed powder is my HG of powders and I don't think I'm going to be switching anytime soon. I love the coverage--it' *so* smooth and has GREAT coverage for a powder. It never gives that overly-dry powdery look that sometimes comes from using a powder.

MAC "Soiree" Nail Polish
I've had my eye on this polish since I first heard about the Champale collection and it didn't disappoint. It looks like liquid heaven in the bottle and it translates onto the nail looking gorgeous!

MAC "Follow Your Fancy" Pigment
"Follow Your Fancy" was the only item I bought from MAC's Stylishly Yours collection. I thought long and hard about buying "Dark Diversion" fluidline but then in the end decided against it (even though it is such a beautiful, dark, rich color).
My Champale Haul +Swatches
I didn't think I was going to get anything from MAC's Champale collection but when I saw the stuff in person, there were a couple things I couldn't pass up.

Orly "Mint Mojito"
Three coats were necessary, with two my nails were showing through. I love how smooth Orly goes on. Is this my first time using an Orly polish? Can that be right? I think it is... Anyway, love the formula of this pretty mint cream polish.

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas, everyone! I'm going to be back tomorrow with real posts, reading to dive full force back into some reviews and swatches.
My Christmas was good. I finally got a Clarisonic and I'm excited to start using it!
To keep this from being a completely pointless post, I swatched a red lipstick comparison since I just bought MAC "Lady Bug" and wanted to compare it to my other red MAC lippies.
I also got a tripod--which I should have gotten years ago--and so photographing swatches and FOTDs and all that just got easier to do without the boyfriend; he's happy.
24 Days of Gifts: Day 24 (The Last Day!)
When I decided to do 24 days of gifts instead of say 12 or something more logical, I didn't really think about how much time it would take to do all that online window shopping that I did. So, suffice it to say I'm glad we're here at 24 on Christmas eve :)
Today's gifts are my favorite recent items that could make nice gifts or stocking stuffers. Call it Jen's Favorite Things... Kinda like Oprah's Favorite Things only you won't get any of mine. Fun! It's just a short little list today.
Happy Holidays, guys! I hope you're all well and safe and happy!
I just want to give a giveaway update: look back on the 27th for a giveaway and then I'll be doing my grand opening giveaway soon too, I haven't forgotten.
Opi Burlesque Teaser Set
I chose this solely for "The Show Must Go On" because that's been my favorite polish as of late but all the Burlesque colors are really gorgeous.
Price: $11.45
Availability: Amazon

Sinful Colors "Let's Meet"
It bothers me that it reads "Lets Meet" instead of "Let's Meet."
I have to say this is a pretty great yellow. I don't have much experience with Sinful Colors but it does look great for a yellow polish--I'm very happy with the final results but it took four long-drying coats. That's the price I guess you pay to get a non-goopy, non-streaky yellow.
I took all these shots with flash.
Here is a natrual light shot that shows more of the true color of this polish. This is spot on, the flash shots are a little too orange-y.

Illamasqua "Hectic" with CoverGirl "Pink Twinkle" Topcoat
This is two coats of Illamsqua's "Hectic" nail lacquer. I love Illamasqua polishes, which I might have mentioned. This could have taken a third coat but by the time I was done with the second, I had already made two mistakes and so I skipped the last coat which could have gotten rid of those little see-through areas.

Opi "Significant Other Color"
This color probably make a better topcoat than a polish on its own but I still think it's pretty and I like how it looks different (dusty pink/green) depending on the angle you're looking at it.
