Maybelline Eyestudio Eyeshadows in "Teal Takeover" and "Downtown Denim"

I'm a big fan of Maybelline makeup (for the most part) and I picked up a couple of these two color shadows. The first, "Teal Takeover" is a teal and bronze combination and "Downtown Denim" is a blue combo of light and dark blues shades.

Jesse's Girl Mineral Baked Eyeshadow with Swatches

For Christmas, as part of my gift, my nephew's girlfriend picked me up five of these Jesse's Girl eyeshadows. The thing I love most about other people buying me makeup is that I end up with some shades I might have overlooked myself. I've got a stand-out favorite from the bunch but I liked all of her choices.

Let's look closer...

Marc Jacobs Beauty: Style Eye-Con No. 7 "The Lolita"

I was really drawn to the Marc Jacobs beauty line... I loved the packaging and I wanted something from it so I chose "The Lolita" eyeshadow palette which includes seven neutral shades.

L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in "Endless Sea"

This shade kept catching my eye every time I'd visit Target or a drug store.... Finally I picked it up at Target for $6.99. "Endless Sea" is a teal-blue shadow. It's almost seems like somewhere between a cream and a powder but it's a powder shadow.

According to Ulta's website it is sweat-proof, water-proof and crease-resistant.

From the Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow Sale: Swatches of "Graffiti," "Peace" and "Frigid"

I took advantage of a Hautelook sale recently and purchased three Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadows for only $4 each (originally $18). The Hautelook sale is over but they are still on sale for the same price over at UD's website. Perhaps they're discontinuing them with the launch of their newer shadows, I'm not sure. I'd definitely check it out if you have any interest in pigmented, bold colors.

I had wanted "Graffiti" for a long time but never wanted to spend the money so when I saw it for only $4.00, I jumped on it and two other colors, getting all three for under the original price!

Darling Girl Cosmetics Eyeshadows in "Miss Argentina," "Pink Nightmare," "Hot Rocks" and More!

Due to some swatch posts at Beauty's Bad Habit, I decided I had to try Darling Girl Cosmetics. It's always kind of fun to try indie brands because you haven't heard them run into the ground and you can usually find something refreshing and different about them that makes them stand apart from mainstream brands. Darling Girl definitely has some interesting shades... And they're not just cool colors but they transform from pot to swatch into these almost magical hues. Very pretty and very awesome.

Milani Eyeshadow in "Girls Luv Pink"

I've been wanting to try Milani eyeshadows. I have tried (and liked) other Milani products so I chose this pretty light pink called "Girls Luv Pink" to give it a whirl...

Sweet Libertine Mineral Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

Many months ago, I took advantage of a deal going on at Sweet Libertine Cosmetics and ordered two of their shadows for a penny I think it was. It was a promotional thing and I didn't get to choose the colors. I remember them saying it would take a while to get the shadows and they were right about that... It took many weeks to get it and when it showed up, I had forgotten about it. I'm not saying this is their normal delivery system, I don't know how that goes but it did take me awhile to get these and then as long or longer to write about them.

NYX "Ocean Breeze" Glitter Cream Pallet

Today I want to show you this glitter pallet I picked up by NYX. I found this guy at Urban Outfitters and it looked so pretty, I had to have it even though I a) Have never used cream eyeshadows before and b) don't have a ton of occasions where I would wear glitter on my eyes like this.

Jesse's Girl Mineralized Baked Powder Eyeshadow in "Esmeralda"

I picked up this mineralized shadow at Rite Aid the other day. The name "Esmeralda" doesn't really seem to fit for me but it's still a pretty, shimmery taupe color that wore well all day for me with an eyeshadow primer.

My MAC Shadow Collection (Because I Recently Did Some Depotting)

I had a few MAC shadows to depot so I decided to try the stove method the other night. In the past, I've used wire cutters to crack open the little plastic part to get out the metal pan. Not a recommended method. I've shattered parts of my shadows that way. I'm going to include the video I used as a guide at the end of this post in case any of you aren't familiar with the stove method of depotting shadows. It's so much easier and safer for your shadows. Me, the biggest klutz in the world, didn't screw up at -any- point. Amazing!

This post is mostly a picture post to show off my MAC shadows--my favorite kind of makeup to collect--not a stove method tutorial. If you have any questions or anything, throw me a comment :)

I pop out the little plastic parts with a knife.

Pop Beauty Lid Neon Palette

This palette by Pop Beauty is small. It comes with six bright, fun eyeshadow colors. I was drawn in by the fun palette of colors.

Body Shop Eyeshadows

I picked up four Body Shop eyeshadows the other day and wanted to swatch them for you. I was surprised at the texture--really almost creamy from a powder shadow. They are richly pigmented and I didn't have to work hard to get the swatches to look good...

17 Solo Eyeshadows in "Shocking Pink" and "Seagreen Splash"

When I bought my sleek pallet from Lily, she threw in a couple of eyeshadows by 17. This isn't a brand I'm familiar with but these shadows are nicely pigmented.

She sent over "Shocking Pink" and "Seagreen Splash."

Cargo "Parakeet" Eyeshadow

I haven't bought any Cargo makeup before and I decided a single eyeshadow would be a good way to easily test the waters.

If Cargo is known for any product in particular, I'm out of the loop because I don't know what that would be but I was happy with the color payoff and smoothness of this shadow...

Amazon.com says (about the organic/PlantLove details:
A high performance and incredibly soft micronized eye shadow that is infused with both natural and organic ingredients and is housed in... biodegradable packaging. ... [It is certified organic which] guarantees the geuine practice of environmental respect through the formulation...

Bad Bitch Cosmetics Loose Shadows in "B. Kiddo," "Trina" and "Barracuda"

I recently purchased three loose shadows from Bad Bitch Cosmetics which is an Etsy shop. They are $4.50 each and there are a lot of really pretty, vibrant colors available.

Sleek Acid Pallet

I've wanted the Sleek Acid Pallet for awhile now and recently bought it from Lily's blog sale at Beauty's Bad Habit.

Barry M Haul

I made a Barry M purchase at the end of December and it took me a long time to get the stuff (as it was coming from the U.K.)--around three weeks total--and customer service was awful! I emailed twice to just ask the status of my order because I was getting a little worried but I didn't get any response at all. This was a little disheartening because I have been a fan of Barry M through the internet based on swatches I'd seen. I said on Twitter that I'd never order from them again and while I'm not sure that's entirely true, it was really off-putting.

Rock & Republic Eyeshadows in "Asphalt," "Femme," "Jaded" and "Ambition"

I ordered four Rock & Republic eyeshadows during their 50% off eyeshadow sale. I was dying to see what they were like.

I chose "Asphalt," a matte black; "Femme," a soft matte pinky peach; "Jaded," a softly shimmering green color and "Ambition," a shimmering white gold.

They are really nice shadows--soft to the touch in the pots and they go on verrry smoothly. They come in the sturdy, stylish Rock & Republic styled compacts each with a mirror. Probably an unnecessary mirror but it adds a nice touch.

Do you have any Rock & Republic shadows? Or did you take advantage of the sale?

Nars Single Eyeshadow in "Tropic"

This is my first Nars eyeshadow. I've been wanting "Tropic" specifically for a long time... It always looked so pretty on display at Sephora. So I hauled this along with lots of other goodies (I'll post a haul post soon) as I step deeper into the world of Nars!
