Milani Lipsticks in "Chilled Brandy" and the Somewhat Unfortunately Named "Orange-Gina"
Milani Eyeshadow in "Girls Luv Pink"
Milani "True Black" Eye Pencil
These days money has been tight and I'm rediscovering my drug store's cosmetic aisle in search of cheaper prices for my makeup staples, especially; the things I re-buy over and over... Such as, in this case, black eyeliner. Based on a recommendation from Tiffany of Will Work for Makeup, I picked up a Milani eye pencil to try out.
Milani Baked Blush in "Corallina"
I'm kind of a sucker for corals and when I was perusing the drugstore for new makeup, I found this blush by Milani. It's a bright, fun coral and it packs a lot of pigment with a little bit of shimmer. I used to avoid shimmer in blushes at all costs but I'm warming up to it as long as it's not a messy glitter bomb.
Milani "High-Res" Holographic Nail Lacquer
Words can't really describe how much I love this polish! It's so gorgeous and it goes on so smoothly and beautifully. I got this gorgeousness in three coats. With the first coat you're kind of thinking "ehh" but when you layer it up it becomes one of the most beautiful things ever! Well, that's a little extreme but it's so neat to look at, don't you think? This was my first dip into the world of holographic polishes and I am not disappointed!

Milani "Gems" vs. Wet & Wild "Party of Five Glitters"
I was at the store yesterday when I spotted Wet & Wild's new Spring 2011 nail polishes. They all look pretty bright and fun but I spotted "Party of Five Glitters" and wanted to compare it to Milani's "Gems" polish.
I like how Wet & Wild's polishes all have TV-related names like "Sage in the City," SaGreena the Teenaged Witch," "Teal of Fortune," "Buffy the Violet Slayer" and "Fuschiarama."
Here are the two bottles side by side. Milani, then Wet & Wild. The first thing I noticed about the diffeence was the size of the glitter--Wet & Wild has larger pieces. Then, "Gems" has a more Christmassy feel in this photo while "Party of Five Gltters" just looks colorful.

Christmas Glitter Polishes
Today I'm comparing "Bring on the Tinsel" (Nicole by Opi) and "Gems" (Milani).
What I wanted to do with these polishes was to do an overall glitter mani with both. No bottom coats or anything--just these polishes. I put on about four coats of each and I will tell you, "Gems" was perhaps not made to be used with so many coats because...

As you can see here, "Gems" makes a gloopy, thick mess if you put on as many thick coats as I did. I painted on both polishes the same way but "Bring on the Tinsel" makes for a great looking manicure whereas Gems will no be reserved to be used as a topcoat... Because I do like it, I just couldn't get it to work for me this way. It does look a bit better in real life than the camera captured it but not by much.
You can really see the gaps left in "Gems" in this one:

Milani "Ruby Jewels" Nail Lacquer
Today's nail polish is "Ruby Jewels" by Milani. I love Milani polishes... They cover so well, they go on smoothly and they're cheap!
(Ignore my thumb nail there, I was playing around with the one Konad plate that I have--I kind of suck at Konading which in turn makes me kind of hate it but I keep playing with it from time to time)
ANYWAY...
Here is one coat of "Ruby Jewels":

I was expecting this to be a red glitter clear polish but it's actually a red with red glitter. Very pretty! Very Christmassy but it would be gorgeous any time.
